Replace HRV with ERV
We have had Sinkler service our HVAC equipment for the past 11 years. In that time they have worked on our furnace under warranty (7 service calls to fix an intermittent problem), fixed a broken start capacitor on our AC unit, and installed some additional duct work in the basement in addition to the typical service visits. Typically they are great to work with but like any company, sometimes they drop the ball a little bit. Communications with the company are not great when the nice lady at the front desk is not available and that may have been the problem for this work. Our latest experience was fair. It was difficult to get them to schedule our new ERV install. After we accepted the proposal and put 50% down, we waited patiently for 3 weeks before asking for an update. It was difficult to get in touch with John. Emails were not always answered. A phone call to the business meant leaving a message or a recommendation to send an email. Instead, I would expect the business to take my question and offer to get back to me. It was 4 weeks before we were given a scheduled install date. And that was after asking for a refund. When the install date arrived, now 5 weeks out, they didn't have the wall control that was listed on the proposal. We got a call from the nice lady at the front desk early the following Monday and the wall control was installed the next day. This ERV was a new (and expensive) model that they had not installed before so the Techs were doing a lot of reading in the installation manual to be sure it was installed properly. In a perfect world they would have had time to do that back at the shop to get familiar with this new equipment. There were some questions that had to be answered by a specialist. In the end, the equipment was installed properly and seems to be working great. I think the Techs did a nice job to ensure this new gear was installed correctly. It is a very "smart" piece of equipment with some nice features.
