Furnace, hot water heater, humidifer installation
The team Rock sent was exceptional! They had fine people skills! I had spent the entire night before their arrival googling for info about cost of furnace replacement, worrying about how expensive this was, and reading a couple of reviews among the stellar ones, that mentioned Rock was expensive. I hadn't done my due diligence to get more bids (I found something comparable on line eventually and resigned myself to the cost.). I even talked to Amy the morning of the install who was prepared to stop the process without annoyance or anger (Amy is one the owners at the office and she sincerely wanted me to be comfortable with Rock.). I've also talked with Juliette and Isobel in the office. Both are pleasant and helpful on the phone so good people to have up front! Amy truly wanted me to feel comfortable, didn't get abrupt when she understood about my not having bids, had me talk to Josh who had come the day before to assess my furnace per the $20 monthly membership I started when I used Rock for plumbing issues (Josh, also polite, courteous, competent.). However, when I thought about my getting installation of all three BIG items, and when the team talked to me in comforting , helpful ways, I felt better and could proceed. First, Aaron, master electrician and Haley, apprentice electrician (She did all the electrical work for the project.), complimented each other and were warm, appropriately friendly, assuring, patient. Aaron left Haley to do the needed electrial work saying she was very capable and she was (I like women doing this kind of work \-\- so was proud at her for all of us women!)! I liked how they supported each other despite teasing about using DeWalt tools vs Milwaukee tools, a topic I'll bring up when I'm next at Bud's Bar in Sedalia. Then Brian Lechugo (Did I spell it right?) and Eric Lobatos smiled, got to work and also eased my worries. The whole team seemed happy to do their job, bragged about the owners who they said were moral and ethical, wanted to do right by their customers, and fine owner/bosses to work for, and that comforted me, too. They were employees who actually liked their bosses, liked doing their jobs and this was obvious for the entire job \-\- almost 12 hrs! Aaron and Haley left and Brian and Eric worked hard all day. They appreciated the ginger cookies I made (I made them because I appreciated their efforts, kindess, competence, willingness to answer ANY of my many questions!). I visited their work all day. They didn't mind at all, pleasantly welcomed me each time as they worked hard to finish. Boy, were things messy while they worked \-\- pipes, bits and pieces all over and I thought this would be a difficult clean\-up. But by 8:30 when they finally called me down after I heard them vacuuming, the place was IMMACULATE! They said it would be and it WAS!!! Brian then stayed to PATIENTLY go over what he'd installed, what I needed to know: the water heater, the humidifier whose filter I need to replace (Who knew?), the furnace and showed me features in the thermostat, much different from my old one, and had me practice all its features while he watched and helped. He answered every question as if he had all the time in the world. In fact, he assured me not to worry about taking time for him to answer my questions. He was glad to do it and he finally left just before nine p.m.! Eric and Brian seemed happy and glad to do the job the entire day! No showing off, no annoyance at me for anything, \-\- just a happy attitude as they worked. I lost my beloved Partner Paul 20 months ago, and Rock just sent me a beautiful glass vase of flowers in Paul's memory (Not sure how they knew.). I was able to work Paul into conversations and have the team smile so I felt Paul was with us, and I loved having the "company" of these fine people all day in my house! The carpet is no longer cold, I'm not wearing my puffer jacket or winter hat in my house (Furnace turned off day before they came!) and am comfy and content. Yes, it WAS expensive, but I felt I got a good deal and know they'll be back to check that furnace regularly for free Just wish all employees felt this way about the work they do and their employers! Good job, Rock! Great job, Aaron, Haley, Eric, and Brian! THANK YOU for making an expensive and difficult decision such a pleasant one for me. My Paul would be pleased!
